Murata, a prominent electronics manufacturer, recently showcased its latest engineering innovations at Embedded World 2023 in Nuremberg, Germany. Among its new offerings is the LBES5PL2EL module, which is specifically optimized for next-generation IoT hardware and incorporates Matter connectivity - an increasingly vital requirement in the IoT world. The module features a highly integrated IW612 single-chip solution from NXP, which supports several different wireless protocols, including 1x1 dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and IEEE 802.15.4. The module also includes LE Audio functionality for voice-controlled products, delivering improved performance with lower power consumption.

Additionally, Murata introduced the LBEE5PL2DL module, which is based on the NXP IW611 device and features support for both Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Both modules are supplied in compact surface-mount packages, measuring just 8.8mm x 7.7mm x 1.3mm, making them ideal for applications such as home automation equipment, smart appliances, and lighting gateways.

Murata's wireless combo modules are certified by FCC/IC and TELEC and have undergone conductive tests for CE, making it easier for customers to bring their products to market quickly and cost-effectively. According to Akira Sasaki, Director of the Communication Module Division at Murata, the company's new modules, particularly the LBES5PL2EL, will be of great value to engineers developing hardware for home and building automation, among other purposes, as it supports Matter and Thread, as well as Wi-Fi 6.
