Infineon Technologies has introduced the new generation of EiceDRIVER X3 Compact family (1ED31xxMU12H) of gate driver that provides separate output options with the active shutdown and short circuit clamping. As part of the company’s most versatile and simple to use EiceDRIVER 1ED Compact isolate gate driver family, the new device is designed for markets that demand easy-to-use drivers with a small footprint for quick design-ins. 

 

The EiceDRIVER X3 Compact offers a benchmark CMTI of 200 kV/μs, and a typical 5, 10, and 14 A output current. It comes with an insulation testing voltage of 5.7kVRMS and offers a high output current of 14A, hence they are suitable for high switching frequency applications and for IGBT 7. The EiceDRIVER X3 is an ideal solution for industrial drivers, solar systems, EV charging, uninterruptible power supplies, commercial, air conditioning as well as other applications.

 

All the variants in the family integrate an input filter that reduces the need for external filters, provides accurate timing, and leads to lower BOM cost, the device also offers a tight propagation delay matching of 7ns(max.) that leads to a shorter deadline. The EiceDRIVER X3 Compact is the perfect driver for super junction MOSFETs such as CoolMOS, SiC MOSFETs such as CoolSiC, and IGBT modules. The 40V absolute maximum output supply voltage makes the device perfect for rugged environments.
